Please note for dogs under 6 months:

I do not use pig ears or Himalayan chews. Instead, they get large organic carrots from any local grocery store. Cold from the fridge. The cold carrots are soothing for their teething sore gums, they are proper texture for chewing and eating plus they are inexpensive. They can be left down in their kennels for 6-12 hours, unconsumed carrots are picked up, rinsed with water and placed back in the fridge. Room temperature carrots are softer than cold carrots. Some pups prefer the room temp soft carrot over cold ones. I re-give them daily for pups 8wks – 6mos. Dogs over 6 months graduate from carrots to pig ears, then to Himalayan chews around age 8 -10 months.

All Dogs in Training:

Every day when chew time ends regardless of dogs age, all left over chews are picked up and re-given the next chew time the next day. I never leave them down for 24/7 chew time. Chew time is part of our daily social training and it is important that the tradition starts and ends each day. Both Himalayan and pig ear chews are essential for DTC training clients dogs and if you have a destructive or power chew dog other chew items will be recommended in addition too these.
