Over the last 24 years I been feeding dogs that are trained athletes, working dogs and high energy family pets.  My dogs are fit, healthy and require high protein, fat and calorie dense premium dry dog foods. Some of my dogs are not diet sensitive and need to eat grains such as oats, wheat and corn.  Some of my dogs are diet sensitive and cannot have grains but do need starch fiber for “bulk” to help them feel full.

This is where Mike Ritland’s Team Dog Elite Salmon/herring formula comes into my feeding rotation.  I chose this food for my dogs that are diet sensitive but require high calories.  As most lean meat (fish formulas) made for diet restriction dogs are way too low in protein, fat and k cals per cup.   Forcing us to feed our athletes or working dogs too many or too little (calorie) cups.

Team Dog Salmon/herring is made with lentils, millet and whole oats.  Still contains 30 % protein & 20% fat.  Is 577 k cals per cup. These leaner ingredients formula is best for my diet sensitive dogs.  As it can leave them feeling not full. At the same time this leaner formula is better for my Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, Belgians that need lean meat because they get FAT on the other two foods I feed!
