Now that your home is set up for training let’s train!

What is daily training?

The trainer trains target training exercises daily with dog for a specified number of sessions per day.  Within the session we have a specific number of repetitions.  All training is broke down into single behaviors or exercises desired.  That must be repeated several times daily to facilitate “change of behavior”.

Each session is a duration of 20 minutes.  Some are less than 20 minutes.

Typical day of training is like this: 20 minute session.  10 minute break.  20 minute session.  10 minute break.    = 1 hour session.

Most dogs require a minimum of 2-hour sessions broke down into the increments above to start.  Then we build upon the foundation that leads to more. The goal of each session is to gain the dog’s brain power.  So, we can build his mind into a focused obedient dog capable of performing his obedience, social training and tasks related to mobility assistance.   Our finished trained dog is expected to be able to manage 12-hour day without going primitive in behavior on us.

Within this 12-hour period he is pottied, watered, fed, trained, groomed and exercised.  As well as in task practice within activities related to our civilized human lives. We aim to train our animal to serve us. Through creating a structured training relationship with our dog for our personal use.

When we choose to train our dog for therapy, wellness and service dog work we are training our animal to serve us with physical mobility assistance of their body and the emotional support of their companionship.  In return we trainers and handlers provide our dogs with positive structured activities in health and fitness. As well as encompass training for longevity and everyday life skills.
